Chairman’s Annual Report 2010/11 IChairman’s Report 2011-12 In addition to the more general activities of the Council, which covered dealing with residents’ concerns, planning applications and the maintenance of the parish, the Council has limited its project activities this year, owing to concerns about the economic climate and the prospect of additional costs later this year in association with the Jubilee Celebrations. The Financial situation continues to be sound and the precept for the coming financial year (2012-13) and been maintained at the previous level. This means that we have now either held or reduced our precept requirements for the past five years. The apparent surplus of funds is explained by three requirements. One is the offer of a contribution of £50,000 towards the development of a new village hall, £30,000 is associated with the gifting of Walton Coppice to the Council and a further amount is required should the prospect of “the road” re-appear on the agenda. The Council has decided to enter both Walton on the Hill and Milford in the Best Kept Village Competition in the coming year and would like to thank Lynne Sandy and her band of volunteers for their efforts over the past twelve months. Over the past year we have welcomed five new councillors to the Council and their contribution together with that of the existing members has been much appreciated. Cllr R Morton
