Parish Councils were set up under the Local Government Act 1894 and the first Parish Meeting for Berkswich was held on 4th December 1894 in the National School Rooms to elect 7 Parish Councillors . The councillors held their first Parish Council Meeting on 17th December 1894. Captain Levett of Milford Hall was elected Chairman with Mr Chetwynd as his deputy. Mr Edwin Collier was appointed Clerk and Collector of Poor Rates for the Parish at a salary of £4 per year. In March of the following year the First Annual Parish Meeting was held in the Village School with 20 member of the public in attendance. At that time the parish stretched from Radford Bank to the Cank Thorn on Cannock Chase. Over the years the boundaries have changed and the Parish, from April 2003, now just covers the Villages of Walton & Milford.

Elections are held every four years and the Councillors listed below were elected unopposed on 5th May, 2011
